Major General Lewis MacKenzie then commander of the UN troops in Bosnia
wrote in his book "Peacekeeper" (about the "Sarajevo breadline massacre"):
Quote:
The street had been blocked off just before the incident. Once the
crowd was let in and lined up, THE MEDIA APPEARED BUT KEPT THEIR DISTANCE.
The attack took place, and the media were immediately on the scene. The
majority of the people killed are alleged to be "tame Serbs".
End quote.
Other documentation about the massacre (I have no time to retype the
whole text):
- British newspaper "THE INDEPENDENT", Saturday August 22, 1992 in
the front page article entitled: " Muslims slaughter their own people",
written by Leonard Doyle, New York, says in the first paragraph:
Quote:
United Nation officials and senior Western military officers believe
some of the worst recent killings in Sarajevo, INCLUDING THE MASSACRE OF
AT LEAST 16 PEOPLE IN A BREAD QUEUE, WERE CARRIED OUT BY THE CITY'S MAINLY
MUSLIM DEFENDERS - NOT SERB BESIEGERS - AS A PROPAGANDA PLOY TO WIN WORLD
SYMPATHY AND MILITARY INTERVENTION.
End quote.
- Similar text was carried by "San Francisco Cronicle", August 22, 1992
page A8.
- The story was retold by Reuters, UPI and AP
- Serbian eye witness account about the incident available. (She also
claims that she saw the TV crew get ready - then the explosion occured).
